Which saplings drop which custom trees? Which crops drop which custom crops?

I'm on a search for all the custom crops and saplings. I want to know which plants drop which items. Because the fact that I got a cherry sapling (acacia) from a birch tree tells me the plant used for the custom item isn't always going to be the custom item's base crop.

I got cherries from birch trees. That list says they come from spruce. So I think yes, it's wrong.
