By no means an absolutely essential ability, it would be nice if as town owner, you could divide up a plot, so as to give only a portion of a chunk to a resident, or instead "draw" the desired plot border across owned chunks. Of course, it would be nice if it was very flexible, so as to have perhaps diagonals or jutting out sections, but even a simpler method like those used in other servers with the "Golden Shovel" claiming would be fine. This way, it could lend town builders more options for city layout, rather than the traditional grid-like residential areas that many resort to, or the less jarring but also less organized spread-out residential areas.

I've always wanted this as well because I hate the gridlike formation that you need to follow if you want to have residents in your town. Unfortunately with how towny is designed this would not be easy if at all feasible. Given the opportunity I would love to implement this on the server.
